Wow! Time seems to be flying by these days. Another week has come and gone! We spent most of last week preparing for our garage sale that we had Friday & Saturday. It was soooo hot, that we didn't have a very good turnout. We have a trip to the Goodwill in the near future to deal with all the stuff we didn't sell! It's nice to get rid of somethings that have just been taking up space and collecting dust since we moved into this house. I have been pretty excited the last couple days when I've gone in my storage/laundry room. It's so much more organized! That's the Monica Gellar coming out in me, I guess!
On Sunday, Delaney finally got to meet her birthday twin (second cousin) Willa! It was so much fun to get the girls together. I have to admit it was a little weird to see Delaney with another little girl since all of her other friends are little boys! It was fun to compare her with another baby that is exactly the same age. Willa has about a pound advantage on Delaney, but Delaney stands a little taller than Willa! They were pretty cute together. Willa would try to pull Delaney's hair, and Delaney would kick Willa! There was no doubt they saw and noticed each other. There were several moments when they were just in awe of each other. Izzy also was a little bit shocked that there was another baby girl in the house. She didn't really know what to think about it!
Aren't they so cute with their matching headbands. These two will be so much fun to watch grow up together! The Wortman family Christmas will never be the same. Plus, now that Nebraska is in the Big Ten, we can plan trips over to Iowa City to watch the Huskers and catch up with Willa! Delaney is going to get to catch up with all her first cousins this weekend! Brent & Buffye and the kiddos will be traveling back east to visit all of us for the 4th of July and Delaney's baptism the following weekend! We can't wait to see them! They won't even recognize little Delaney! It should be a busy, crazy, fun weekend at the farm with everyone!

Happy Father's Day!!!
Happy Father's Day, Daddy! Thanks for being such a great daddy to me! I'm a very lucky girl to have you as my daddy! You do such a great job of taking care of me, Mommy, and Izzy! You really are a ladies' man! You are my favorite bath-giver and snuggler! I also love when you push me in my stroller when we go on our family walks! We get to do so many fun things together. You're the best daddy!
Mommy and I had a few tricks up our sleeves today, but Mother Nature gave us a run for our money! We had planned a surprise brunch at the Green Gateau with the Aerni family! When we left our house, it was like a monsoon! We made it to lunch, but the rest of the days plans were still in jeopardy! We had made Daddy a tee time with Ryan, and some other guys (James & Russ) for 1 o'clock. Luckily, the skies cleared just long enough for them to get their 18 holes in! Meanwhile, Mommy and I had a play date with my boyfriend Parker and his Mommy! Here's some highlights...
Here's Parker telling me a secret! He was telling me how silly our Mommies looked jumping and dancing around trying to get "cute" pictures of us!
Here's Parker putting the moves on me. He was holding my hand! I thought it was pretty cute! He has the softest little chubby hands!
Then, Parker really got crazy! Let just say I ended up with a big drool stain on my shirt! I think Mommy & Daddy are going to have to keep their eye on this one! He's a pretty sloppy kisser...good thing he's so good-lookin'. Now, if I could only get both of my boyfriends together at the same time...

3 Months
We hit another milestone today...Delaney is three months old! I can't believe it. It seems like we were just bringing that tiny little girl home from the hospital! My how she's grown and changed since then! These past three months have absolutely flown by, but boy have they been a lot of fun! We are so blessed to have such a perfect, healthy girl!
Our little bundle is getting to be such a big girl! She weighs 11lbs 6 oz today. She has officially doubled her birth weight (and then some). She is now about 22 1/2 inches long, so she's added a full 4 inches in length over the last three months. She is now firmly in Size 1 diapers, but I think we'll be in this size for a while yet as there is still room to grow! She is wearing size 0-3 month and 3 month outfits, and of course looks adorable in them all!
She just worked her way up to 4 oz every 3 hours this week. She seems to be handling the increase just fine. She's also been working her way back to sleeping through the night. We had been doing so well, but as soon as I started back to work she started walking up around 4 a.m. She did do better with that the last few days, so I think we may be turning the corner. She slept 7 1/2 hours last night, which was so nice. I hope that's a new trend!
One of her latest tricks that has really shown through this month has been her beautiful smiles! She loves to be talked to, and will usually give her audience a big gummy grin! We even got a few little giggles on May 31st. She had spit up all over me and found it very amusing! It was one of my favorite moments with her so far...the giggle part!
She has also taken more of an interest in toys this month. As you can see, she has a new friend "Ellie" that she really likes. Ellie was a gift from her Uncle Chip, so I think that makes her extra special! She also really loves her play mat that sings and has various toys to enjoy! I still think her swing is her favorite and it almost always soothes her into a nice little snooze!
She has also decided recently that she loves to be naked (or in just a diaper). I'm sure this will cause a few headaches for us later in life, but for right now it's pretty cute! She's had a lot of very fun "firsts" this month, here's a few...first baseball game, first wedding, first day at daycare, and first trip to the zoo! She's been such a busy girl!
Everyday is a new adventure with Delaney! We love waiting her grow and learn. We are so blessed to have her. She has made us into a family, which is something we dreamed about for so long! Everyday with her is a gift, and we cherish every little moment. We cannot wait to see what the future holds for this little girl!

It's be a while...
I guess I haven't posted for a while. We've been pretty busy it seems. Last Friday, we headed up to Tekamah for a wedding on Saturday. We visited with all of Delaney's grandparents, and even her great-grandparents. She also attended her first wedding! She did pretty good, and was fairly quiet throughout. Here's a picture of her little outfit for the wedding...I thought she looked adorable!
Isn't she cute? We also had a chance to have a family picture taken, which was nice because we usually don't have anyone around to take a picture of all of us. I think it turned out fairly well. I didn't plan for us all to match, but I think we looked good anyway!
Speaking of pictures, we had Delaney's 3 months photos taken on Monday night. She was pretty stubborn about smiling, but she looked super cute none the less. I can't wait to see how the turned out. I'm sure they'll be great even though she didn't seem to be in the mood for them that night.
This picture is about 10 days old, but it's a pretty cute one of Delaney and one of her many boyfriends, Parker. Aren't they cute! They are only about 3 1/2 weeks apart in age, but Delaney has some serious growing to do to keep up with this future linebacker!
We are closing in on the 3 month mark, so I'll have another post in a few days with more pictures!

Frustrated
Well, as our Biggest Loser competition continues I continue to get more and more frustrated. After 2 1/2 weeks, I'm in dead last and have only lost about 2 pounds. Chip & Craig are both down over 10 pounds and Lauren has lost about 5. I stayed exactly the same from week one until now. I don't understand. I have been more active and paying better attached to what I'm eating, but still no real results. I have noticed my 30 Day Shred is getting easier every time, but I have been skipping a few too many days. I'll be able to move up to Level 2 after a couple more workouts, maybe that will do the trick. Right now, I'm sort of sorry I ever said anything about starting this silly competition.
Delaney has reverted to getting up at least once a night over the last two weeks. I think this is part of the reason I've had more excuses to not do my video. She was doing so well, sleeping at least 6 hours a night for a few weeks straight. Now, we're up around 3-4 a.m. every night. I'm getting really tired. I think I'm developing narcolepsy...I feel asleep this morning while I was burping her! Oops! Don't get me wrong, it's all worth it, but boy am I tired! I hope she finds her way back to the longer nights soon!
Other than the sleeping thing, Delaney's been really good. She seems to be smiling more and more every day, and she likes to "talk" to us. We're taking her to her first wedding this Saturday, we'll see how that goes. I'm prepared to request a seat in the back just in case! We have her 3 month pictures scheduled for Monday. I'm so excited for them! I loved her newborn pictures, so I just know these will be great too!
Another big event we are planning is Delaney's baptism. Craig and I went to the baptism class last weekend at Blessed Sacrament. We have schedule Delaney's baptism for July 11th. We are so excited, she'll have all her grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, & cousins there! Brent, Buffye, and the kids are even making a trip back from Colorado for the big day! I'm really looking forward to it! We will also get to spend the 4th of July with them, which should be a lot of fun!
Today's been a pretty nice day. I decided to treat myself to a quick pedicure at lunch. It was so nice! I definitely needed one, and my toes look so pretty! When I got back to work, I was surprised to hear it was our monthly massage day! Oh, how I've missed those. I haven't gotten a work massage since probably November before my belly got huge! We are go lucky to have Stephanie stop in once a month, it's definitely one of the best "perks" of the job. Talk about $10 well spent! The only bad things is, after all this pampering I still have a headache! ugh!

We're Surviving
Well, we're on Day 3 of Daycare, and so far so good! It has definitely been a tough week for many reasons, but so far I think we're all coping fairly well. The mornings are tough. Aside from being up way earlier than I have been in months, the stress of getting everything and everyone ready to go each morning is exhausting. I try to do as much the night before, but it still takes me at least 2 hours to be out the door. I'm really tired this week, and it must show based on some of the comments I've received the past couple days!
Delaney seems to be doing well at daycare. From the sounds of it, she's pretty spoiled over there. She's the only girl, and the little boys seems to be quite smitten with her. I also think Holly (the daycare provider) is enjoying having a little baby around again. I am so happy I made the difficult decision to go with Holly at the last minute. I'm at peace and confident in my decision! So far, I couldn't ask for more as far as our daycare goes!
The evenings have seemed very short, and that makes me sad. By the time I get home from work and all settled, it seems like the time just flies by and it's time for bed! I'm so tired that I look forward to going to bed, but when the time rolls around I'm having a hard time laying Delaney down and turning off the light. I know this will get better, but right now it's pretty depressing!
Our Biggest Loser competition is progressing. At this week's weigh-in, I had lost the least amount of weight at just under 2 pounds, and Chip had lost the most at around 6 pounds (I think--I can't remember for sure right now). The boys are also ahead of us girls in the Team Competition by about 1% loss. We'll see how this week goes. As of yesterday, I have completed 6 days of 30 Day Shred, done 1 Ab workout from Exercise TV on Demand, and gone on several walks with Craig and the girls (Delaney & Izzy). My activity level has definitely increased, and I have tried to make an effort with food. I just wish I wasn't so hungry all the time and didn't crave such bad things. I guess when they say it's a lifestyle change. I think once I have the guts to go home for lunch again to an empty house it will help a lot as I have healthy lunch options there. So far, I haven't been able to face walking in without Delaney. My goal is to try sometime next week.
