4 Years

Four years ago today, we got all dressed up, said our vows, and had an awesome party with our amazing families and friends!  Here is one of my all-time favorite pictures of that day...it's still proudly displayed 4 years later!  It really was an amazing day, and I wouldn't change a moment of it!

We have done and seen a lot of things happen in the last four years, and I couldn't have asked for a better partner at my side!  It hasn't all been unicorns and rainbows, but it has been one incredible ride!  Cheers to the next 4 (and many more!)!  Love you Craig!

Happy 3rd Anniversary Craig!

Oh, what a day that was!
It seems like just yesterday, yet so many things have happened since!
I can't wait to see what's next!  I love you!

Happy 2nd Anniversary!

Two years ago I married my best friend in front of all our favorite people. It was such a great day. We chose 08.08.08 for our wedding day and planned for it to be 100 degrees, but we were blessed with an 85 degree day in August! Everyone we wanted to be there was there to celebrate with us, and it all went as planned! Aside from the day Delaney was born, it was the best day of my life!

I knew we had big things in store of us, but the last two years have just been a whirlwind! Right after our wedding, we took off for Mexico! What a trip that was! I loved it down there, and if we are even given the opportunity to go back we will! It's amazing! A week after we got back from Mexico, we moved out of our tiny apartment and into our house! A month later, we got our puppy Izzy! The day before our first anniversary, we found out we were expecting and last March we had our beautiful baby girl, Delaney! Obviously, I left out many things, but these are the highlights! I can only imagine what's ahead for us! I can't wait to find out! Happy Anniversary Craig!

We had so many great pictures taken that day, but these are some of my most favorite!
This was right after the first time we saw each other that day! I'm still very proud of myself for holding it together in that moment!
This is my favorite "formal" picture of us! Notice I'm standing a step above Craig & he's still taller than me...good thing I had a long dress!
Our formal "first" kiss! We were official at that point!
Here's our wild & crazy wedding party! We were so grateful to have them all there! We picked the perfect people for the perfect "jobs" that day. Sometimes wedding parties can add stress to the day, but ours was great! They all went above & beyond for us! This picture cracks me up every time I see it! Priceless!
After the ceremony we took off with all our "peeps" in a trolley! This was one of my favorite times of the day...just cruising around with our closest friends and family enjoying the moment!
I just love this picture...my favorite of all of them!

We share our anniversary with my parents! They were married 08.08.80, so they are celebrating 30 years today! We are so lucky to have them as parents! I hope they had a great time last night...more details later! Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad!

Another sad day...

Just when we thought the news of last week couldn't get worse, we were shocked by the news we heard today. I will not go into the dark details on here, but if you know this family please keep them in your prayers and thoughts. I've had a knot in my stomach all day as my heartaches for them. You can find full details on any of the Omaha news outlets. This kind of stuff isn't supposed to happen. I can't imagine what this family is going through.

Now, to happier things as I think we could all use it today. Little Delaney is growing like a weed and changing so much. She's closing in on 9 pounds and really starting to fill out. She is also awake a lot more throughout the day, so that has been a lot of fun. She's developing quite a little personality, which shows a lot of Craig. She doesn't have much patience when she's hungry (neither does he) and she doesn't sit still for too long when she's awake (another quality of Craig's). I have had to alter my diet over the last week to see if that makes her feel any better. I have had to cut out milk and soy products. It's harder said than done, there's milk and soy in so many different things. So far, I think she might be feeling a little better, but we won't know the full effects for another week or so. She was being pretty fussy a couple weeks ago, so the doctor recommended this to see if it helps!

Yesterday marks 9 years since Craig and I started dating. It's so crazy to think back to that time. We were totally different people back then. We were only 17 and preparing to enter our senior year of high school. It's crazy how far we've come since our first date at Burger King! We shared many milestones. We graduated high school, went to UNL and got our degrees. We both started our first "real" jobs. We both bought our first cars. We watched close friends get married and said good-bye to those that moved away. We FINALLY got married! We bought our first home and moved into it. We've traveled to so many places, Okoboji, Colorado & Kansas City many times, Washington DC, Vegas, Mexico. We got our puppy, Izzy! We had our first baby, Delaney! Oh, what a wild ride these past 9 years have been. I can only imagine what the next 9 hold for us! I can't imagine anyone I'd rather share all of this with! Thanks for all the good times! Love you Craig!

Now, here's a few of the latest pictures of little miss Delaney! Enjoy!

Another one bites the dust...

vacation that is! We got back from Okoboji last Saturday evening! The week was full of fun, sun, food, drinks, & one trip to the ER! The weather couldn't have been any better for me...it was perfect boating weather! It was warm enough to be out & about in a swimming suit, but cool enough that I didn't melt or overheat on the boat all day! We have never been for 7 days, so it was a new experience for all of us! I think it was the perfect amount of time...long enough that it didn't go by so fast, but not too long! Oh, and the house we picked out online was absolutely wonderful! It was huge and beautiful! I think there is a good chance we'll be booking the same place for next summer! Yay!

The trip to the ER was for me! Yep, I'm a klutz! On Thursday morning, I was walking through our house up there and kicked a chair on the way by. Long story short, I fractured a small bone in my foot! Now, I have the pleasure of wearing a very stylish Velcro shoe until tennis shoes don't hurt...SWEET! Oh well, at least I did it at the end of the week!

This week we are trying to get back in the swing of things with work, home, etc. Last night we had a huge storm roll through Lincoln. We actually lost a small limb off our birch tree in the front yard. That's a new experience with being homeowners. We never had to worry about that sort of thing with the apartments...it wasn't our problem.

Oh, and we are gearing up for the big one year anniversary on Saturday! I can't believe it's been a whole year already...wow time flies! So many exciting things have happened! We don't have any extravagant plans for Saturday, probably just dinner out someplace yummy! I do have our wedding cake top tier thawing out in our fridge. I really hope it doesn't taste too bad...I really loved our cake and have been craving it lately! Our trip to Las Vegas over Labor Day will be our anniversary celebration/gift to each other! I'm really looking forward to it, assuming my foot feels better by then!
